Portsea SLSC has 60 bunk beds available for active members to use throughout the patrol season. If you’re rostered on patrol or want to make the most of an early morning on the water, staying at the clubhouse is the easiest way to do it.
WHO CAN STAY
Any active patrolling member aged 18 and over can stay overnight. You must be booked in for every night you plan to stay via the online booking system. Under 18s can stay with an approved supervisor. See the Supervisors section below.
WHEN CAN I STAY
During the peak patrol season, active members can stay any night, provided no camp has booked out the club (e.g. Bronze Camp). During the shoulder season, members can stay Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, or the night before or after public holidays. Outside the patrol season, members cannot stay at the club.
If space is short, preference goes to members patrolling the following day or who patrolled that day.
FAMILY ROOM
Families can book the family room if at least one parent is an active member. The room has 4 beds (2 bunks). Families are responsible for any underage members at all times. All family members over 18 must hold a valid WWCC.
BUILDING ACCESS (FOB)
A FOB is an electronic keypass that gives you access to the building outside of normal Food & Bev operating hours.
Any financial member with a valid WWCC can get a FOB. Active members need to complete an induction first and receive broader building access. All members pay a refundable deposit ($10 for a keypass-style FOB, $25 for a wristband-style FOB), returned when the FOB is handed back. A FOB agreement form must be signed before the FOB is issued.
What access does my FOB give me?
- Associate members (including family members without active status) can access the main gate downstairs, showers, and the multipurpose room.
- Active members also get access to the equipment area, first aid room, control room, and day patrol room.
- Only guests booked into overnight accommodation can access the bunk rooms.
- When Food & Bev is open, the main upstairs area and deck are accessible without a FOB through the main sliding doors and lobby.
SUPERVISORS (UNDER 18S STAYING OVERNIGHT)
If you’d like under 18s to stay at the clubhouse, an approved supervisor must submit a Request to Supervise. Read the supervision rules in the Accommodation Policy before applying.
The Process:
- Junior member completes the accommodation booking form
- Supervisor submits a Request to Supervise, listing dates and who they’ll be supervising
- Parents download, complete, and return the Parental Permission Form
- The Committee approves or rejects the request
- If approved, all staying are expected to follow the accommodation rules
